Services for Job Seekers

If you're a person with a disability and looking for work, we can support you through your job search and help you get connected to the workplace. We assist a wide range of job seekers, from those who want help with resumes and interviews right through to those who are looking for direct placement. Our help includes everything from assistive technologies to job market insight, as well as access to fully accessible Employment Resource Centres in our northeast and downtown Calgary locations.

The WORX provides job seekers with disabilities with the following services:

Employment Resource Centres

We have two fully accessible Employment Resource Centres available in our northeast and downtown Calgary locations. You can drop in and access computers, sign up for employment related workshops, speak to a Career Advisor, and get useful resources.

The WORX facilitates workshops throughout the month to help develop job search techniques, resumes, interview skills, career tips, essential skills and more. You can view the latest monthly schedule here.

Career Advising and Job Placement

The WORX provides job search support, which includes career advising and planning, employment preparation, direct job placement, and retention supports. Our Career Advisors and Employment Placement Specialists help build the skills you need to connect to the workforce.

DRES Funding

The WORX helps individuals with disabilities and employers access Disability Related Employment Support (DRES) funding. DRES provides individualized training and employment supports to individuals with disabilities to help attend education and training programs, enter the workforce and maintain employment. Examples of DRES include cost-sharing a workplace accommodation, note-taking services in a lecture setting, as well as vehicle and worksite modifications.

ASL Interpreter Support

The WORX will work with clients when they need to seek ASL Interpreter supports for job search assistance and job interviews. We use a combination of in-person and remote ASL support depending on availability and client preference.
